Brandstar – Behind the Mystery - Feral Films - Production Company Manchester

CLIENT: Brandstar

THE CHALLENGE: We were approached by Florida (US) based production company Brandstar, to film a segment for their TV show ‘The Balancing Act – Behind the Mystery’ – broadcast on the cable channel, Lifetime. The show is produced in Florida, but this particular segment needed to be filmed in Manchester in early 2021 by a production partner (us!).

HOW WE DID IT: We filmed a patients story, which included interviews with her, her family and Doctor. The segment needed to explore the families struggles with a life-long disease, exploration, diagnosis and then the treatment. The interviews were carried out remotely, by Producers in the US, dialling-in on an iPad Zoom call. We filmed using three cameras, and created a ‘home’ scene within a hired location (Alberts Shed) in the function room. We filmed these interviews at the height of the 2nd Covid-19 outbreak, so had to be Covid-compliant with masks, social distancing and kit clensing throughout.

THE RESULTS: This was broadcast in the US on the cable channel Lifetime in early 2021, and the series continues to grow from strength to strength.
